FVMBA indoor 4X series 2012/2013

It's time to get your bikes ready for indoor.
The 4X series races start Nov 13th /20/27 -new track- Jan29th feb5/12 Finals FEB 19th.
Indoor opens at 5pm for practice
signup 6:30-7:40 late phone in 604-308-2291
Racing starts at 8pm.
tues/thurs practice BMX or mtn bike till 7:40 then we go to racers only.
BC Cup Series, which means all series winners will get a 4 X Championship Jersey.(I will make sure they fit this year best I can)
Sponsorship is still coming in and ,if your shop or business wants to be part of two months of winter racing.
Just contact me.
This year we will do our best to have a dedicated facebook page of 4X results and race reports and pixs.
Websites again will keep everything up to date.
Still some more work to do but once we get the final sponsors in ,Posters will be finished up and sent out.
Got kids? bring them, BMX racing sat. at 7pm or sun. morning at 11am.

Mtnbikers remember got a CyclingBC license (road/mtnbike/BMX) you could come out and race your mtn bike as a cruiser sat/sun.
It's all about the fun.

Less than a week before indoor opens on Nov 6.
I counted the practices and race days for the FVMBA 4X series
8in Nov and 10 dates in Jan/feb.
Avenue Body Shop in Abbotsford's Jason Stobbe (a rider) has stepped up in $$ sponsorship.
Crash Cash $$ each race night.
Get that bike ready.

Norco has just confirmed sponsorship as well as Cranky's Cycle in Aldergrove.
Anyone else wanting to be part of two plus months of cycling action in the middle of winter ?
I am thinking of making Jan 27 night a small amount of swag to hand out .
Feb 19 will be the big prizing hand outs.
Anyone having any idea's how I can make things better pm me or postup, I am all ears.
I will also try again to come up with a ladies only training night.
Remember last year Jill Kitner and Kat Sweet gave a great double (due to demand ) clinic.

Today is build day ,tomorrow we open for practice from 5pm on.
My race posters are almost done for BMX and the 4X series.
Last year was the first time sponsors actually contacted me and wanted to be a part of indoor.
To date more sponsorship, translated more swag for you riders and volunteers,and most important.
Indoor ten years running is only getting bigger, never been??? "Get your bike and be part of it"
Some nights the crowd cheering and laughing with racers giving her, life gets no better.

Race report #1 nov 13th

FVMBA 4X series Race #1 tues Nov13th
u13 girl (last years defending BC Cup Champ) Meghan Carmicheal became the first winner of Abby's Avenue BodyShop
"Crash Cash" ,right out of the gate ,hooking bars and going down hard. Undaunted she was back up for her next moto ,with a smile.
U15 boys Magnus Manson bested the high flying Travis Regnier and Mike Mead.
Junior M. Liam Wallace continues his winning ways. Collecting some cash from Velocity Cycles (Holeshot $$ award)
Mark Balica and Chad Coan close behind.
Open W. Aja Philps besides winning her class , also took some cash from sponsors Velocity Cycles Holeshot$$ award.
Michelle Benson and ever smiling Kelly Jones in pursuit.
Open M. Hunter (tooo tall) Welykholowa bested a hard charging Trevor Parson and Andrilj Chaubaty.
Vet Open M. Mike Mead (defending champ )came out charging just beating out Dale Murphy and Todd Hovde.
4X Lites Conner Tennant just barely ahead of bro Chris Tennant and the smiling Wylie Easton.
For the record the final standings went to the last moto as they finished,it was till then tied.

Pro M Ryan Murphy was just too fast for Bob Jones.
Every 4X race has $$ Cash payouts of Velocity Cycles"holeshot awards" and Avenue BodyShop's " Crash$$ Cash"
Bit of a slow start to this season,but I am sure the action and racing will heat up .

We had a nice practice last night . Great to see Tyler Gorz out there with Dave M taking some obviously high quality pixs. Abb. has invested in new better lighting,which is really great for indoor pixs.
DaveM said he seen a iphone pix and it looked good. Bob Jones was styling it up in the practice.
I rode with Bob and Kelly and others on Bear ,Bob has made skills. Brian O after his big battles with Bob is working on his speed. The O show may be getting older but he still has the drive,nice.
Newest sponsor Cove Bikes is sending out some swag to indoor,sweet .
Thanks to all the sponsors ,i think next race on tuesday maybe it's time to start handing out small amounts to the kids.
Like one of the ChroMag bars, which some of the younger kids are wanting and asking. RaceFace /Kona. Norco swag is waiting to be handed out. Kudo's for the cash prizes every night in BMX racing and 4x.
Abbotsford Alignment and BodyShop and Velocity Cycles in WalnutGrove and Maple Ridge cycle and Yess bikes have all donated cash$$$ $2000 approx.
I have been giving away up to $50 for the biggest crash on race nights ,plus another $50 in anywhere between $5/$10 Cyclling BC coupons for the young racers and $10/$20 cash " Holeshot " awards to spice it up.
I even gave some small $5s out to Liam Wallace holder of the best whip and small owie awards.

I heard Bob went down hard,apparently he went to the hospital for a check up of a sore shoulder.
He's ok already checked.
I think that puts him in the lead for next tuesdays 4x race (unless a bigger crash happens)

Like two cases of beer better or ?
You know indoor has gotten great support from sponsors in cash and swag,but what we really need .
I know it's a long drive maybe,rainy, tuesday night, Is you the racers.

We had a good night though a little slow. The 4x lites race was again so fast and competitive.

Rule change due to the slow start the title can still be had for those who want to try and be the BC Cup 4X Champ.
3 race eligibility plus finals to qualify for a Jersey . ( you can still count top 4plus finals points)

Remember if you can't come out and race Tuesday's mtbikers can come out and race sat at 7pm or sun 11am in a cruiser class.
There is a affordable adult citzen license which is good value.
Have you seen just how many little kids are coming out ?? The 6 year old class had a full gate and 9s as well on sat. night. Then there are those little tykes on the pushbikes, so cute you almost want to cry.
