A typical El Nino sees a late start on the coast. Very warm, with big storms separated by clear weather. Good up high, nothing down low. Usually with an ugly PWL to haunt you all season.

Interior sees big fat warm dumps and shit tons of avvy activity.

But then again, there's no such thing as a typical El Nino...

This thread is so timely - I was just thinking the other day what were some of the predictions out there for the upcoming ski season. This stretch of sunny weather has sure been nice but I'm ready for the snow to start flying soon.

I would love for it to continue being cool, clear and dry (ish) right into November and then BOOM snow on the mountains. The interminable dark rains leading up to the snow kills me, when doing anything outside is miserable. At least right now you can still ride.

Yeah right. I'm from Winnipeg. The best skiing in Manitoba is Banff.

the olympic year was awesume at whistler if you were a local cuz there was TOO much snow for the alpine races and there was NOBODY on the hill except for the 800 course workers who were on piste at 3am to shovel it and too busy to ski

Out the window I can see the snow line creeping further down Hudson bay mtn every morning, we will be skiing in november but season wise its hard to say, last season sucked most everywhere but it was great up here

Whatever happens I will be going to work every day skiing and just trying to be the best ski bum I can ... its the job eh?
