So how does Rocky sell the 650b with a fantastic video like THAT showcasing a MSL 2-6er?? Maybe they can ring up Mitt Romney?

The bike industry is mad!

Clearly you can't do that on a 26er anymore! Actually, most of us can't do that on any bike.

i think some of this is just marketing guys who want to sell more bikes to people who already own several and science guys who want to prove bees cant fly.....
Why do you hate america?

And when do 650b hit the shelves anyway?

I picked up brand spanking new 26" all mountain wheelset this summer and this new 650b "standard" just makes me want to throw up. I am convinced I might be happier if I just ignore new "technology" (otherwise known as marketing crapola) and ride a steel hardtail with out-dated wheelsize. Fuck maybe I should get a Klunker. Am I being what you fellers call a "retro-grouch?"

Is"The Industry"leaving behind short people. If you are sub 5'4" it's hard enough to find a descent 26" bike that will fit short people.(Que in randy newman song)
Now the wheels are getting larger, the smallest 26" frame you can get is 14" add 29er wheels and it fits like A 16". Now you will have to move your kids from 20" to 24" to 26" to 650b to 29" if they make it to above 5'5"tall.
Thank god I'm 5'7"

We had really good succes this past Summer with our carbon Santa Cruz Tallboy 29er rental. We must have rented it 30 - 40 times! I think people are really getting on this 'lets try something different just to try it' band wagon. I know the boys in the shop took it out a couple times each and had really great things to say about it. Steve raced it in the Nimby!

I rode the Tallboy LT in the later part of the season down Espresso a couple of times and I was surprised to see how well it rolled thorough the steep and rough stuff. It was noticeable how well it rolled through the rough stuff compared to a 26" bike. The lower sections of Espresso can be pretty gnarly (just the way I like it!) and the bike felt uber-comfortable - stable, confident and inspiring. The Tallboy LT is 30lbs? Maybe?

Can someone help us out and show us what the best 650b AM bike for this coming year will be? Any predictions?!
