Just ordinary single ring "narrow" alloy bolts bought on CRC. Make sure to check tension during and after first ride. And dont over tighten if you go alloy

New hardtail. Not sure if it's classed as AM/DH/DJ or 4X but it's just a fun bike to ride. Need a proper length post, this one is too short and should be slammed for the fun stuff but it's all I have at the minute.

Yeah I think it is sold as 4x/DJ. Think the seat angle will be too slack for proper sit-down xc rides but I hardly do any of that at the minute, probably once a year if that! I'm just using it for a fun ride anywhere bike, it's actually slacker, lower and feels more stable than my FS haha.

Nice! A couple questions:

1. What's the reasoning behind the Flow on the front and the Arch on the back?
2. What kind of pedals are those?

1. Cuz... bought Arch first then couldn't source another quickly so got the Flow. Arch will eventually go to my Unit and I'll replace it with a Hope/Flow like the front.
2. Some Shimano knock offs I've had kicking around since 2001. The just won'd die!

Gotcha. Nice ride. Don't know if I'm man enough to not have dual rings up front but the way I go on about wanting a singlespeed you'd think I was.

One of these in a 28T would be a beautiful thing for a 1x9 setup.

Hmmm...29er steel hardtail with 28T ring and 11-34 xt 9-speed cassette might just work for me. I have the cassette already at least.

Be a pretty low top speed for the street ride to the trails tho. But on the trails I could see being very happy with that set up.

No prizes for low weight +/- 37lbs
Unfashionable wheels
Unfashionable drive train
But a lot of potential energy accumulated by the 7th switch back
