well my feelings on this are based on trying to maintain a few small trails over the last decade.

its def a lot of fun to build stunts but the maintenance can be an issue.

i for one am tired of the "build it and forget it" model that is popular w many stunt builders....




i personally think the challenge of combining natural flow w sustainable building designs is the way of the future .. of course if there is funding and real money involved (whistler etc) then the sky is the limit...

I am 100% on your side of this also.

The "build it and forget it" resonates deep with me and I completely understand where you be coming from on that one. I am almost at a decade building and I plan to stay to show the kids how its done.

I also think that the "keep it high, keep it sick, keep it skinny" mantra is gone on the shore for the mainstream "light side" trails.

I like the idea of dirt top wood work, hell I still remember years ago we building that dirt top landing together with the S-Crew that, today looks like the day we put it together.

But... this be a thread about building trail structures and I want to hear and see some new ideas.

I am thinking right now the best of both worlds. Flow and Art and my wife is pissed on how much time I am spending building right now

I have a partner in crime who is much younger than I and his ideas are radical so I check my ego at the door and let him lead. And by god his ideas are something special for sure.

We are at a game changer right now regarding building.
