As far as dropper posts, does anyone here have ride time on a KS Lev yet? I'm particularly curious about the 27.2mm model, if any distributors have that size; it may not have been released by KS.
I was playing with my buddy's Lev last night in the parking lot (he's only got about two weeks on it). Not sure what size it is but it's not the 27.2mm for sure. The stationary cable mounting is sweet, particularly if you have a new carbon bike that you're still trying to baby from scratches. The action of the post seems good and a moderate improvement over my i950-r with less initial stiction. Basically, it looks good but time will tell....

Does anyone on this thread have a Rase adjustable SP? I'd like to hear others' experiences before I shell out the $ for the new model. Thanks in advance.

Wow this tread really grew.

I just got my post back, the guys at the shop needed to barter to get a rebuild kit. If you're waiting you can order rebuild kits from fanatikbike.com down in Belli.

I'm really interested in the Kev as well. I'm a huge fox fan but I just can't get over the lever.

I picked up a RASE post, old model. Works very well, a little noise but not really noticeable once you are ripping on the trail.

I have an email into RASE to ask about their revised model as well, will be interesting to see if the new post comes out.

PM me if anyone is interested in a 30.0 9 inch RASE dropper post. I just switched frame for my FR bike and no longer need a 30.0. Now both bikes are 30.9. Much easier as I run an old KS i900 without a remote, 5 inch drop works very well, no complaints.

For now I will sit on the sidelines and wait to see how the LEV works out for others. It would be nice to have the remote and a full 6 inch drop capability.

after all of my blah, blah, blah about not wanting a post I finally gave in and picked up a Reverb. I'm not going to say everyone "needs" one but it sure can make the ride more enjoyable.

Dropper post and hydro brakes - the two biggest game changers in my riding career.

The lever is fantastic (ergonomic, nice action) if you run it under the bar (where a shifter would normally be).

That means you either need to be strong (pedal 1x10), live somewhere flat (1x10 = 38t or 40t x 11-36t in Onterrible) , or run a thumb shifter for the front derailleur (which is frankly better anyways -> adjustable trim).

I would prefer if the DOSS had one more position in the middle (I don't need a 5" dropper post, 3" would be perfect) or at least if the 4" came in a two lengths (a la Reverb) so I could get my extension.

Niggles aside, it has been excellent thus far and I find myself using it all the time(and I'm not generally a dropper post fanatic).

I've had it out for about 6 rides.
It was straight forward to install. I max'd out the rebound air pressure to get it faster. It still operates a bit slow for my tastes but it's ok.
It's gotten a bit sticky lately but I'm not sure if that's due to the cold, or a bit of contamination or what.
Overall I'm really happy with it. Here's to a trouble-free winter!

Another 27.2 post now on the market is the ICE post from a French (as in France french) company. It's fully mechanical like the Gravity Dropper (spring) and so far getting seemingly solid comments. The real interesting factor is that a couple UK websites have it as little as $89 British pounds. So, significantly less expensive than the KS options.

http://www.r53sport.com/index.php/ne...er-post-081112

This would make the transition from the alloy Norco 29r HT to the OnOne Cromo frame a lot more palatable, as the dropper won't cost more than the frame....

Looks like an exact copy of a GD classic, but if it's that cheap, then it could be a good option.
Still no issues with my GD.

Do some digging, it's a catalog post and available with multiple names. I found it back in the summer and now I forget what the main name was. Decent reviews. It's heavy.
