fyi though there's a wierd "band of distortion" going across the page about a third of the way down, basically at the bottom of the green menu bar on the left hand side. not sure if it has to do with my older version of IE (8.0) but it might be a good idea to keep the code simple/clean so the site is compatible with most browsers.

the other thing i noticed is some info is out of date - for example the site is still showing that applications for TAP for 2011 are now closed. is the info for 2013 going to be up soon?

If you're referring to the jagged edge at the bottom and top of the header/rotating banner, it is actually part of the graphics.

We decided to leave 2011 info on the TAP page at the bottom. We're just starting planning for TAP 2013 and should have more info around the date of the AGM in November.

what i'm getting garbles the text on the main part of the page and makes it hard to read. some pages are worse than others depending how the page is laid out. it's consistent in location though whichever page of the site i'm on.

I still have IE7 at work, checked it out and see what you mean. I'll ask our tech team how much effort it is to make it IE8 compatible and decide weather it's worth it.
