LSCR/Seymour Valley Trailway question

A little while back I read about this recycled bridge LSCR put in on the Seymour Valley trailway to link it to the other side, making a 25 km loop. Next week I'm heading out there with my kid for a chariot ride to check it out.

This map shows the bridge being on the Seymour Mainline, not the Seymour Valley trailway. However this press release says:

"The bridges connect to a loop route between Spur 4 and the Seymour Valley Trailway via the Coho Trail."

Do I need to turn off SVT at the intersection with the mainline? And when I come down the other side, do I take Twin Bridges or stay on Fishermans?

I rode that loop two weeks ago. I rode out the paved road ( main public ashphalt)

new bridge is great , crossed it . climbed the switch backs and decsended the fire road on the east side. crossed back to the west side of the river at spur bridge 4 , and continued to descend fishermans to Homestead trail, then climbed the "bitchbacks" and continued home down through lynn valley

The description is a bit misleading.
Ride the valley line to the end. do the gravel coho trail to the bridge , climb the gravel switchbacks, descend the gravel fireroad on the westside.

will be a good ride with the trailer for sure.

The Mainline is closed to the public, you ride the SVT to about the 10 k mark then it turns into the Coho trail(incredibly scenic single track adjacent to the river), ride this to the end, ride around the fish hatchery towards the viewpoint (going west on the south side) and then turn east and you will find the bridge that takes you back down the Spur road to cross the Spur 4 bridge. Here you have to decide if you want to go back up to the SVT via Hydraulic or better down Fishermans to Twin Bridges, turn right and up the hill back to the Ranger Post and Carpark.

PS at the 10 k mark before you take Coho, go east past the turning and check out the river, great swimming spot here. It's only a couple of hundred yards.

Midvalley picnic table is a great spot for a rest with great views. Not really enroute, but not far off the route.

This sounds like a good candidate for a tandem/trailer/picnic ride. How would those trails go on skinny tires? Not racing skinny, but touring skinny.
Thanks Ben

This is a fine ride for a touring or cross bike. I don't think you'd want to haul a trailer up from Spur 4 bridge to Mid Valley, though. I'd probably head all the way down Fishermans to Twin Bridges and take the gravel road back to the Rice Lake parking lot.

Looking at the map...don't I have to cross the Spur 4 bridge to get to Fishermans?

Yes – but the Mid Valley lookout, if you were considering it as a destination, is up a steep pitch from Spur 4 bridge.

Are there any gates I will have to squeeze the chariot through?

Are the gates wide enough for a double chariot?
