While you guys argue why one is better than the other... here's a good read on how they are exactly the same.

The great mystery story in American politics these days is why, over the course of two presidential administrations (one from each party), there’s been no serious federal criminal investigation of Wall Street during a period of what appears to be epic corruption. People on the outside have speculated and come up with dozens of possible reasons, some plausible, some tending toward the conspiratorial – but there have been very few who've come at the issue from the inside.

I like the Occupy Wall Street sign in Central Park during the eviction that read something like "If they enforce Financial Regulations like they do Park Regulations we wouldn't be here in the first place".

I think this really shows more than that. The 2 men are different, but it doesn't matter who you are the borg will assimilate you into their economic policies when it comes to banking.

Obama may have shit the bed when it comes to the banks and it is likely naive to believe the second term will be the one where he burns the bridges, but there is absolutely no doubt that Romney looks at the economy as a machine that can be tweaked and squeezed so that money pours out for those in the know and has been part of the borg for a long time.

It's possible that Obama either doesn't want to find anything bad with Wall Street because it may expose bad policies by previous Democrats, or because it may expose more evil than the economy can bear.

Disappointing Wall st. policy aside, don't kid yourself, the two parties are nothing alike in terms of taxation policy, foreign policy, social policy, judicial nominations, environmental policy... etc.

For instance, one more right-wing Justice on the Supreme Court, goodbye Roe v. Wade.

There is a lot more at stake than financial sector policy.

$1,000,000,000,000+. That can pay for a lot of gay weddings and abortions.

The only difference between the two is that the Republicans are the fast-track to the great American Revolution, whereas the Democrats will prolong the inevitable result.

Why bother 'contributing' to a thread about the election if you're not interested in talking about the election? If you think there is no choice politically and both parties are the same, what do you have to add to the conversation? Nothing.

You and Tungsten should start your own thread where you can piss, moan and disparage the political system while offering no solutions and no alternatives.

Anyone think that Obama is going to lose? The only x factor that I can see is the amount of cash that the Romney campaign has to spend, but I think relentless ads just saturate the air waves at a certain point so I am not sure they can turn the tide. Plus, you just know Romney is going to say something stupid again.

Oh, but I am talking about the election. As for my suggestions, you have a common habit of ignoring them.

I refuse to simplify politics to a simple sports game where there are only two teams. I'm hoping to challenge, and be challenged that what we have today is seriously flawed and on its current trajectory leads to revolution.

Apologists for either party show that they are more similar to each other than to the purported differences between the parties themselves.

As long as the Financial Services and Defense industries have unlimited lobbying power to a SMALL group of elected officials, everything else is small potatoes in terms of impact to society.

But, we still live in a free world, so you are definitely entitled to rail on about how racism is bad, and how you are going to solve it by voting for your favourite political party.

I was chatting with the wife about this last night, I thinks it's out of Obama's hands. The race has been Romney's to win or lose since day one. The race is a lot closer than most people realize. It's down to five or six swing states to decide the whole thing. Obama is ahead in the polls in most of those states currently, but with stellar debate performances Romney could tighten it up, that in conjunction with the recent voter suppression laws (Voter ID laws, Restricted early voting, Voter roll purges...etc) being passed in Republican Governed swing states could give him the edge on election day....

Enlighten me, please. Please provide one example of a credible solution for the 2012 election which you have presented that I personally have ignored.

Again, a bunch of politically disparaging rhetoric without an ounce of actual value. *golf clap*
