Shipping bike

I need some advice. I am the lucky owner of a new to me used bike. I am trying to get it from Rimbey, alberta to me in north van. I was told by greyhound that the max they can insure for is $999. What are my other options. This bike cost me a bundle and is valued well over $999. I am worried about the risk. What to do.

I shipped mine from Calgary Cycle via greyhound. Worked out pretty well and communicated directly with the driver to arrange delivery after 1st delivery attempt was done while I was out. I don't recall what the insurance situation was, but it arrived in perfect condition. I think shipping was less than $100.

Other services - FEDEX, UPS, etc will insure for more and you will pay more to ship.

Just ship it UPS. I got a bike shipped to me from Ontario for $80, I'd imagine it'd be a lot less from Alberta.

I took the chance with grayhound even though they would only insure for 1000. It arrived in great shape and cost me $78.
