Whatever happened to Bender?
I was watching some old Rampage footage today and wondered what happened to the madman Josh Bender? He made up in insanity what he may have lacked in skills, and was a huge part of my buddie's riding style back in the early 00's. Watching him send it on a 60' drop made us realize just what was possible on a bike.

Anyway, I did a search on him, and came up with nothing. No facebook updates in a few months, no wiki page, nothing.

So where is Bender now?

I'm hoping he's working some cushy gig at a bike mfr these days. Considering how he threw his body off cliffs for our entertainment for so many years, it would be cool to see him living a better life now.

last video i saw was from this year.. and he was hucking on 29er ellsworth i think.

i wouldn't say he threw his body off cliffs for "OUR" entertainment; he just simply pushing the limit

MBA had a article on him and his Ellsworth 29er. He's less interested in hucking and more just about riding now days. Living based on where his van is parked. Oh, and he and his wife divorced a few years ago.

He's actually in Utah right now working on the Rampage course. Has done since the event has been resurrected. He's doing ok, just getting older, like the rest of us lol. He's not really a self-promoter. We get the occasional phone call check-in from him. He's good.

I haven't checked back in a few days, but it's really cool to see that he's still in the game and working on the courses. That's pretty cool to hear. Makes posting this thread all the more worthwhile.

Now it's time to bang off some Whistler laps before they shut down the lifts.
