NSMBA Presents Business Case to DNV Council - Sign the Petition!
Over the past month and a half, a dedicated team at NSMBA HQ has been toiling away on a plan.
The objective of this plan, "A Community Driven Model for Sustainable Trail Maintenance", is to provide a structured and formal program of trail maintenance for our mountain trails. At 7:00pm on Monday, September 17th, Mathew Bond and Mark Wood will be presenting this plan to District of North Vancouver council to seek their support through funding and partnership. Please feel free to join us at council chambers and voice your support. Ongoing funding for trail maintenance and betterment is the first step to ensuring a world-class trail network for the benefit of residents and visitors. Please sign our petition to show your support. If you are a District of North Vancouver resident, a hard copy of the petition will soon be available in your local bike shop. ^MB |

Thanks. Great work. Read the report and signed the petition. MTB trail organizations in Whistler and Squamish seem to have really good relationships with the munis in their area (or so it seems). Can NSMBA hope to have that kind of relationship with the DNV? I assume factors like local land use, population pressures and demographics play a role. Just wondering.

Whistler is pretty much completely tourist oriented, so they get it.
Squamish has a much better small town community feel than North Van (makes sense, but not every small town is like that). North Vancouver is too close to Vancouver and have too many self indulgent residents. |

Well written plan, with three clear objectives. Nicely done. Thank you.
Look forward to seeing everyone on Monday night, on the 17th.
