Stolen - And then recovered!
My bike was stolen from my basement storage in the early morning of Sep 5th. Any information that I can pass on to the VPD would be gratefully received.


Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, hopefully it can stay here a few days before moving to the Stolen forum. Thanks.

I'm consistently amazed by the reach of the Vancouver bike thieves. You pretty much have to sleep with your bikes to keep them safe. I live in a studio so I sort of do sleep with my bikes.

thats the crappy thing about living in Kits. The landlord complains if you try to keep your bike in your appartment. You put it in storage and someone helps themselves. Die thief die.

Great news! I got my bike back.

It was advertised on Craigslist 24hrs after being taken. VPD contacted the seller, set up a meet and grabbed him earlier today. The officer on my case did a great job and dropped the bike back at my place this evening. It even got a wash & lube.

VPD 1 : Bike Thieves 0

Well I suppose getting the cops involved is one way to go. How many dudes would be tempted to go in person with a crew and jump the d-bag. I wonder what the punishment is for ass hats steal bikes.

A friend had a bike stolen, then it was advertised on CL in the middle of the night for a few hours, but deleted shortly after.
When he asked VPD to look in to it, they said they would but not yet as he was part of a larger investigation. In the pic the bikes are always parked in front of a bunch of tools and other items that are likely hot too.
Hopefully they can nail this guy and some people can get their stuff back.
