there is a very good chance i will be on a bicycle on the road from vancouver to whistler on the same day that other people who have spent 275.00 ( can $ ) will also be riding their bicycles from vancouver to whistler .

hope they enjoy their day as much as i will .

It was awesome agin. I think I was a 3:57 or so. Nice beer garden after, Barefoot Bistro pulled pork sandwich, hanging out with friends. Not caught up any crashes and no cramping until the very end. Pretty good for a fat old guy who only trains off road really. Longest ride was a 2:45 on my hardtail.

hard tack must be only getting action from the goats again.

I went to the Brackendale Fall Fair with the family so I never saw spandex - but they figured out the grandfondo traffic for Squish. First couple hundred get the right away, the rest wait.

I don't get the hate, but whatever.

First year of the GF, I was heading up the Upper Levels and went by a guy on a full sus 29'r with about 2.2 knobbies.

I thought, oh man, that has gotta hurt.

I'm told the guy made it in a good time. No thanks.

Just checked 3:57:00:1. Not bad for an old fat guy that only trains off road. Sort of. I figure at 54 it is undignified to actually train.

First class

What wasn't to like. Good weather, good ride, good food, good beer and good music.
As they say "All good"
It's not an event for everyone as it comes with a high price tag and of course it on the road so the "I hate Lycra" crowd isn't going to like it. As the cycling population ages road riding only becomes more popular. The Golf course are suffering because we are spending our money and time on bikes instead of green fees.
Road biking, the new golf.

there was a group of roadies hanging out at merlins at 3, still in their lycra, still wearing their what im guessing are participation medals over the neck like they won a fucking gold medal. rudest, most self absorbed group of people i have seen.

also the amount of powergel/stinger bee wrappers along the highway from nordic to the village was disgusting. wtf is wrong with these people?

i dont hate road riding, but i hate the majority of douches involved. GF's just seem more like a status thing rather than riding a bike.
