Thanks DS, hoping the casts will be off in 6 weeks. Wish I could say it happened in some gnarly section in wbp but was just on a random trail at the hartland dump on my banshee Rune:/

Here is the story:/

So after getting in 25 days at whistler this season during my days off and going some what injury free...... I decide to take my AM bike for a ride in Victoria. Things were going great, all the riding in wbp has made me much faster on my home trails.

I take the same route I always take and hit a small step down down but with more speed, I landed with my front wheel into a buried rock with a exposed size of a softball. Bike completely compresses and stops. Both my arms near the wrist broke like in a car accident and I flew otb and landed on my back. I now have two fiberglass splints until Tuesday then two casts for 4-6 weeks and a huge bruise and lump on my lower spine:/
Oh well I will be back to whistler next summer.

Trail was the joiner trail from south ridge tu fun trail, the second jump in the right side trail before the small log drop:/

Get better man.It's hard to turn off the bike park speed when you get back to the local trails.I have figured this out myself,minus the crappy injuries.

Sorry that happened don. we never got to do any laps together. not being able to use your arms and hands properly must be challenging
id be more worried about spine though you get x rays? Well if i ever go to prevost ill. message you healing vibes. just when you were starting to really open it up getting more comfortable.

Yeah X-rays on the spine came back ok, the Dr. Was surprised she said due to the size and color of the swelling. Thank god I have the gf who lives with me to take care of me!

Sorry to hear about your injury, miscalculate something and bam your buggered for 6 weeks.

I have actual casts now. I get them off the 27th so pretty much 4 weeks to the day including the week in splints. I can't complain, I called whistler and I had 26 days with 150 runs and at least 30 of those included Garbo runs. I may have biked once a week all last year if that so this was like 3 years crammed into a summer!
