At 160, I made my 36 creak. I pushed it hard, but nothing out of it's design intent.

Very nice bike!

It seems to me the geometry and BB height adjustability of the bike could make it accept 26" wheels quite nicely and it would still be a great ride! Any thoughts on that?

I would try before you buy with that idea... let us know how it goes!

I totally love the new bike. I love the wheel size, I love the adjustability.

Kashima injections into the creaking interface should fix the loud forks. It's like collagen for bikes.

Did I miss something, or am I the only one who would like to know about the weight (for all models, not just the one we can't afford)?

Is nobody concerned about those seat tubes? Didn't like them on the new Elements and don't like them now. As a tall rider who's no lightweight I'm concerned about them developping tears or breaking off.

@Bagheera - I'm not sure if weights were issued at the launch but maybe Morgan has something...

Those seat tubes w/o braces are something Rocky worked hard to design. It's difficult to make them strong enough, but they did it (in carbon and then in aluminum - and they were carefully tested). Remember, there is a long pedigree in tube and frame design there. Aesthetically, I think it looks great, but it also helped save weight.

So how do you think this bike will compare to the 2013 Specialized Enduro? Seems to me if you go full slack on the Altitude you have a bike that's very similar to the Enduro...

The Altitude compares more to a Stumpjumper, the slayer compares to the Enduro. Go full slack on the Alt, and it's more like a Stumpy Evo.

Sweet ride, exactly what I'm looking for , except perhaps maybe a Slayer.
Anyone know if Rocky will offer the Slayer in 650B for 2013 ?

What's this loctite product you speak of? I've got an '08 Lyrik that's developed a rather nasty creaky groan. I wouldn't mind trying to quiet it down.

Dammit! Another bike on the short list for 2013.

I wasn't provided with those numbers, nor is my estimate accurate to within a pound on 30, so I'll check in with Rocky and report back.

The 2013 Enduro has a 66.5 HA on a Fox 34 160. I'd actually wager that this 650B Altitude with the 34 150, 68.3 to 66.6 HA, would compete with the Enduro rather than the Stumpy. The Stumpy EVO would need to have a 34 if we were to compare it fairly... and that's something I would personally like to see.

Haven't heard anything, though Rocky kept the 650B Altitude under wraps pretty well too.

Yes, a pedigree that includes the RM series (which neeeeeeeever broke) and frames with seat tubes continuing above the top tube wich would crack (with proper seatpost insertion)... Just sayin'
I would love to believe these seat tubes last, but I'm having a hard time believing it...
And yes, I love RMBs, two of my three main bikes are Rocky Mountains.

Rocky's announced the full 2013 line, Altitude is the only 650B.
