The trail crew have been working their fingers to the bones on the DH course this year, it promises to be another epic weekend of festivities to close out the season.

We got up today to check out the course and snap a few photos.

Awesome, great to see another race at a ski hill. I only have one question: Will the lift be running faster this year?

Nope, no faster then last year. It is a 50+ year old chair that wasn't designed to run in the summer, so unless you want to be stuck on the chair while it overheats then you're gonna have to live the same speed as last year

Oh dear. Word on the street last year was that it was running half speed for insurance purposes due to the safety of loading/unloading bikes and that perhaps there'd be hooks installed for this year to make loading/unloading easier which would therefore allow the lift to run at normal speed?

The chairlift is what it is. Last year when the safety guy from the manufacturer came up, he wasn't going to let us run bikes period. The resort agreed to run the lift at half speed, which tied our hands.

The lift cannot be altered, adding hooks etc, due to the loading on the assembly.

It will run as it did last year.

Enjoy the time, get up there early and use the time that is provided. Be happy that Karla and the gang continued on with the event. I also hear that they need some people for marshals, so if you have a mom, dad, girlfriend, boyfriend that will be there with you for the weekend, see if they want to help marshal.

From what I'm seeing,it should be perfect conditions for the race - a little rain this week, and then sun for the weekend.
