I've been enjoying getting back on a 26" hardtail with 100mm fork... but it doesn't really have enough seat tube or front brake for actual mountain biking.

It's funny. After a really enjoyable ride I swear all I want/need is a 26er hardtail. But the rides where I get owned I start asking the questions. I should change the title of this thread to "first world problems."

haha I have exactly the same problem. I can ride everything I ride on my FS on the hardtail but theres just something fun about having the FS and knowing I can have slightly dodgy landings and get away with it.

Exact opposite for me. Knowing that I have to be 'on' all the time on the HT makes it more fun than the FS.

Yeah but the Jesus effect gives him an extra 2" suspension front and rear. Kind of like a 29er.

That was some really impressive riding, makes me wonder why I still ride my std sometimes....and not jst sell the bike, buy a bigger fork and wheelset for those "other" times aboard my stylus. Guess it all comes down to memories and that not only my stylus is "sex on wheels".

Next time I come over I'd love to bring the stylus and have a go at whistler and pemberton.
