During one of the stages the commentators said he doesn't race for Kenya because of some type of kerfuffle. He did represent Kenya at the world TT championship when he was 21.

He's riding for the British Road team in the Olympics ... which makes him British - irregardless of his ethnicity (which is English anyway).
