Looking for a new shower set
We want to renovate our bathroom and replace our bathtub and shower door with a brand new shower unit and door only (non bath tub type).

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best bang for the buck, reliability and easy to install?

We want something like this:

Maxx sells glass doors and shower bases, usually for a decent price as well. Stand in the shower base if you can, cheaper ones are flimsy and feel soft.

Whatever base you use make sure you set it in a mortar bed and let it set up before standing in it.

For an easy to install shower set check out the Hansgrohe shower panels. they are available in the lower mainland through Bartle and Gibson, Andrew Sheret, or BA Robinson.

Or if you don't want to spend more than you have to, BC Plumbing.

Cheap all-in-one units are feel and look cheap.

Do you mean the BC plumbing that went out of business about ten years ago and came back as BCP plumbing and is now owned and run under the BA Robinson brand?

It's in the industrial park across Lougheed from Burnaby Costco, on Enterprise. I bought my sink and shower fixtures (Grohe) there and saved a fair bit of money. Display room is decent.

Other shops like Norburn charge way to much for everything. It's amazing how horribly made the lighting fixtures are, and what the markup must be.

7975 enterprise used to be BCP plumbing now it is BA Robinson's wholesale division. Do not go to lighting and bath retail outlets for anything more than ideas. For shower taps there are many different options. The brands we use and recommend are Kohler, Grohe, Hansgrohe and more cost effectively, Moen and Delta.
Stay away from Price Pfister, or knock off brands like HD's Glacier Bay.

Yes, I'd also like to mention that we are looking for a contractor especially someone with an account that can potentially help lower the cost of purchasing the shower set.
