Half Full Nelson

What am I lookin' at here?

Two separate trails or is Full Nelson the recently added top half of Half Nelson?

Both look pretty buff, like GearJammer but steeper/longer eh?

What're they like now after a few months of traffic and all this rain?

Happy Canada Day btw...........

^ that gif is awesome!

To actually answer your question, Half Nelson is the original line. Approximately 2/3rds of the way down Half Nelson, Full Nelson joins into it. This joining point is approximately the halfway point of Full Nelson.
The entrances are in different areas and are both easily accessible from the bottom ending section of trail.
Half Nelson is longer and real fun. Full Nelson is real fun and will probably be more buff.

Half Nelson is the older and longer (about twice the length) of the 2 trails. Full Nelson merges into Half Nelson for the last few hundred m. Don't know how they will stand up, but unlike A-Line or CBC, neither (esp the Full Nelson) are viable for car-shuttling. So that alone will probably limit the amount of wear and tear.

BTW, Obama likes both trails and wholeheartedly supports their construction and maintenance.

No shuttle for Full. Half is a logging road, then last few hundred meters is gravel track. Ride up Half is OK. Three 12-13-year olds in our group on flats riding adult-size bikes made the climb up Half. Full is much steeper (and shorter) - most people have to push sections of it.

It's an enjoyable pedal and doesn't take that long. I don't think it would be worth shuttling.
The day I went I put in 4 laps of Full Nelson, 2 laps of Half Nelson and then back up to Psuga Tsuga (or something like that) to get down to my car without really shuttling. I did get driven to the second parking lot though.
If you have vehicles that are able to do this, park everyone at the lower parking lot, then take one truck up to the bottom of the Nelsons and park it there. Spend the day pedaling around and checking things out. At the end of the day choose a trail that will take you down to the lower parking lot to your vehicles, then drive back up for the other one.

OK thanks for clearing that up. Buddy was there couple years ago "shuttling" Half I suppose.
I mean, how hard can it be to ride up for what produces a 7+/- minute descent? That would be my preference anyways.

Another day though, not in this rain..........
