car work in whistler

so season 2012 has started for me, i rocked up yesterday.

anyway, ive inherited a car, i bought it off a mate for cheap as its a 99 subaru legacy. its got snow tires on it with the street tires in the back. whats the cheapest place around here to get the tires changed over?

i need a bike rack then its road trip time... planning lots of riding everywhere this summer.

Had to get a tire repaired in Whistler this winter. Nail or screw through tread so slow leak, but fast enough not to drive far with it leaking.

Took it to these guys, they did the tire repair while we waited and price was fair. They're in Function Junction.

Cheapest route would be to use the jack & wheel wrench/tire iron in the car to change them over yourself.

Good way to make sure that you have a jack, tire iron and that the lug nuts are loose enough that you can change the tire if you get a flat at a trail head.

Assuming the tires are already mounted on rims.

SMD can be a raking if they're in one of their moods. FWIW, I got my car serviced there a few years ago - usual song and dance - oil, lube, rotation, yada yada... Well, drove my car off the lot and sense some ridiculous vibrations. Called them in between Function and the Village, mechanic said it was "normal", just the tires settling in after rotation.

I pulled over - they'd forgotten to tighten ANY of the bolts on ALL four wheels. I was driving on naked posts as most of the caps fell off on the drive.

NOT impressed. My wife's car, 2 car seats, a 2 year old and a baby transportation device. Imagine.

And to top it off, only a sorry - not even an adjustment of the bill. Sorry cats, haven't been back since. The other shop at the end of Millar Creek Road is there all the same; Local Auto or even see if Barney's is still kickin'

Was meant for the Aussi who showed up yesterday, ::Liam::. I say a status on Facebook yesterday saying another Aussi named Phil McLean also arrived yesterday. I was curious if they happened to come together.

Ah, I see.

Well, if I may, good presumption... Aussies are like that. They travel in packs

(said with the utmost respect as my Aussie mates will attest, I've got nuthin' wrong with 'em)
