My thoughts are with you and all who have been touched by this tragedy. Your son was very lucky to of had a mother as amazing as you.

"Mom of Deceased" And Sister too! Although I cannot begin to feel your pain, I have seen it many times! As a father of a child diagnosed with cancer, we have had several Children's Hospital oncology ward "Friends" lose their child to this disease. The sheer grief and pain I've seen these people go through is unimaginable. I imagine this is the same grief you are feeling! I always hear that "time heals all wounds" Bullshit! That's ok if it's your parents, siblings, spouse, or family pet, not your child! I'm so sorry for your loss. No parent should ever have to go through this!
Although I don't recognise Jonathon's name, I hope to have maybe met him, or said hello at a trail head or parking lot gathering spot. A few friends and I rode Cypress a few days ago, as it's our favorite local mountain of choice. We ran into a few riders at lookout point and ALL were talking about your son and the tragic loss of a fellow rider!
Rest assured that the whole community of mountain bikers, not only locally, but globally, share in your loss!
May Jonathon Rest In Paradise. Rubber side down.

Please pray for his two pals who were with him at the time and are suffering. They need all your support.

Incidently , hampstead bandit, thought you might like to know that Jonathan was oraiginally a Londoner. He immigrated to Vancouver when he was ten and since then has had a passion for mountain biking, white water kiyaking and skiing.
thanks you for letting me know more about your son, and his passion for the outdoor sports.

I know plenty of people in London who would love to move to Canada if the opportunity arose, I am glad your son got to do, what he loved doing, whilst living in one of the World's greatest Cities

In honor

I was shying away from cypress all month rode it last tues first time in a while,Today i rode coiler first time ive rolled that trail hit the feature for the deceased.imagined him tailing me and riding in my shadow. I do not know where this accident happened but i felt a sense of satisfaction and hope the sorrow can transform to smiles . We as mountain Bikers all take chances and our loved ones are always concerned for our safe retern.I am sad your son(and brother) did not come home.
A part of him will be on that mountain for us to share, hope it gives us strength and courage to overcome our own challenges .
Ironicly one of the fellows i was riding with is fighting cancer,So i try to enrich his days with as much fun and memories as we can ,cause one day we all lose people we care for and love.Life is short ride hard.

Just wanted to add my condolences. I'm very sorry the family has to go through this. Many times I question why I ride with the inherent danger that goes along with mountain biking. Like everyone else here it's something I love.

R.I.P. Jonathan, shredding with some buddies would be my way to go.
