the plastic pedals rock (I've got the nukeproofs). light, low profile, cheap and bomber. no reason to spend more.

Been running the Nukeproof/Deity/NRG------> Wellgo's plastics above for a few months on the DH rig. Can't beat em for the money and weight. If they break: oh well @ $40 and 340g.

I think I've worn the bushings on my nrg's, can they be taken apart and serviced? Like repacking the bushings/bearings with more grease.

parking lot test only - my foot naturally falls right on the bearing so they're not right for me. Otherwise they do look good. Next time you ride, look down periodically to see where your natural foot placement is.

I have been running the deity compounds on my DH bike since June, last year. I got the saint cranks and SRS+ guide last May, for comparison.
They have been holding up like champs. I had to tighten the dual dust cap/ bearing preloads after the first ride, but since then, no play, and bearings still feel good. A couple of pins are ground down a bit, but none are bent. This is my back pedal, that takes the most hits:

SRS bash and Saint cranks with similar use:

So the Deity's and Nukeproof's have decent grip for the Shore? I used to have a pair of cheap plastic bmx pedals on my dj bike a couple years ago which were seriously lacking in the grip department. I guess the metal pins make the difference?

Oh yeah, no comparison. I've been using these pedals (mine are branded NRG 'Hippy Killers' for what it's worth) on my DH and AM bikes for the past year or so in all sorts of conditions on the North Shore and they are as grippy as any of the other flats I've used. Nice big platform too... and light... and low profile... and cheap.

Paired with five-tens they are really grippy and the platform is a good size... really for the price you can't go wrong.

Thanks Bryce,

I went with Spank's Spikes...cant wait to try on the trails this weekend but they feel incredible so far (just drive way tested) Endless foot postition possiblities cause the platform is huge and uber grippy.

I tried the Diety Composites and they were not for me. I have a pair of Red- used once , swap for a 6 pack..PM me

They are a bit soft, and I have torn pins out but I'm a bit of a hack so I bang pedals
