History of the Santa Cruz Superlight

Seb Kemp was intrigued by the longevity of Santa Cruz's single pivot platform, and decided to do some research on the long-tenured Superlight.

Take a trip back in time with Seb and Santa Cruz's Scott Turner here...

Big fan of Santa Cruz and their single pivot bikes (and now their VPP bikes).

Rode a couple of Bullits as my big bike for years. (My wife still has one.) I used it as my loaner bike for friends, I couldn't bear to sell the frame so I gave it to my cousin in the UK where he continues to rack up the miles on it.

After the great Santa Cruz customer support with the Bullits, I bought an original Blur which is still in use as my XC/AM bike. For my big bike I run an old VP-Free. I know a bunch of people don't like them due to BB height but it has worked for me. It climbs better than the Bullit does and the slack headangle makes me ride down and off stupid stuff.

I've demo'd the 2nd gen. Heckler in Downieville & the Blur XC in Las Vegas.

My wife is now on a Blur LTc. I'm hoping to add a Tallboy LT to the fleet this year.

Maybe I need a tattoo?
