Range LE frameset. RP23= boost or no boost
I'm hoping someone can answer this for me. No shop I've been in could answer it this past weekend.
The Range 1 has an RP23 boost valve shock as listed on the Norco site, and I saw one in a shop so this is accurate. It also features the adaptive logic adjustment. However, the LE complete bike and frameset are listed as only an RP23 (no boost and possibly no adaptive logic). Is this accurate? Why would the highest end bike and frameset come with a less featured shock? |

New (2010+?) RP23 are automatically "boosted". RP2s are not. Boosted is always better.
Adaptive Logic is better for AM/Trail riding, where as regular RP23s are better for XC. Not that it's that black and white, but the control options on the adaptive logic shock are more inline with what Trail riders want. |

from what I've heard, the boost works well with some suspension designs, and poorly with others. whether it comes spec'd or not is not always a clear indication of this, as the valving is now standard, and you have to be a pretty big customer for fox to make you a custom batch of shocks. but as was saId before, I would guess the le comes with a boosted rp23 and imagine it'll work just fine on the range - though I've heard it doesn't mesh well with designed-in anti squat, which ART has, so maybe not? i imagine it's more designs that have a pretty aggressive bottoming ramp in the leverage curve. makes it tough to get full travel.

it is indeed an adaptive logic rp23 with boost.
