Living Will...........

Since I'm recovering from an injury...........

Last night, my wife and I were sitting in the living room and I

said to her, "I never want to live in a vegetative state,dependent

on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens,

just pull the plug."

She got up, unplugged the TV and then threw out my beer.....

My wife took a different approach. She drafted a do not resuscitate order, final will, and had another lawyer witness the signatures so that everything is nice and tight.

Everyday I make sure the brakes work on my truck and the hand rails on the stairs are nice and secure.

I just got a motorcycle the other day and I was thinking I should get somthing written up like that actually. How does one go about this? I know you cant compation kill people in Canada, but you can stop feeding if your family considers it nessisary.

What you want is called a "Personal Directive". In it you state what you want under certain conditions. I.e. if they have to take a leg to save my life have at 'er but if I'm paralyzed from the eyelids down pull out the breathing tube. That kind of stuff.

To get one written just go and see your friendly neighborhood lawyer. Most will charge a set basic fee for this and it's ok to ask a lawyer what they'll charge before they do anything. Only a sketchy lawyer will try and bill your without actually doing anything.
