Recommend photo editing freeware.
My wife's friend is a photographer and has taken photo's of our little guy for us. The misses wants to get a couple developed from the digital negatives. Here in lies the problem...the photo's are 18mb each and he have a max photo upload size of 8mb. All the software I've found to resize/reduce the photo's cuts the file size down to under a meg. Can anyone recommend something that gives a little more control when it comes to setting file size? We'd like to send in the highest quality file as possible.

Only ever used it once, but it seemed like a great free editor (online too so no need to download anything). Should be able to do what you're looking for.

I use Picasa from Google, it does a lot more than just edit pics.

Picassa will reduce the photo size but it maxes out at 1600 pixels and 1 mb file size.

We've talked to our photog and she's going to resend us the negs in a smaller format. Thanks anyway guys.

Paint.net is my personal favorite. I used to use Gimp but prefer Paint.net's interface. Either way the price is right! (free)
