I was under the impression the NSR2 was no longer being made. Perhaps from an email they sent me, or from an nsmb rumor. Can not remember atm.

Another nice looking rack that I just saw is the new Swagman Quad 4. The peices that hold the tires are movable and they look plastic but I called Swagman and they are metal.

http://www.swagman.net/products/platform-racks/quad-4/

Looks like the trays are all offset to prevent the handle bars from hitting. It is also another BC company.

The Swagman is around 80 pounds for the 4 bike platform but the arms do not lock they decided to provide a thick cable that will lock the bikes and rack to the car/SUV/truck. Price they said was around $350 but they could maybe do better if your in the area and drop by to pick it up. They normally do not sell them direct.

I have a swagman 4 placer from 2008. Mine did lock at the releases (a small hole at the handle u can padlock).
I also padlock the bolt that goes through the reciever....
Very happy with it, its been across Canada and back and gets used quite frequently (mostly w/one bike though).

if anybody cares, a road bike can be mounted on an nsr half decently if put on backwards. we needed to move a bike in a pinch and did fine. wrap an inner tube around the stem/bars. it made the other bike not sit perfect, but still overall it was fine for the trip from sun peaks to trail

Strahan developed these, and they're amazing. On and off in seconds. They don't do road bikes, but maybe he'll do some sort of road bike insert at some point.

If you go to their website , you'll see that the NSR 2 biker is still in production . Since the web site says that the 4 & 6 bike racks are sold out , it looks like their sales are booming . Hopefully they'll still have some 2 bikers whenever I decide to put an order in . If I had actually ridden the North Shore sometime in the last 3 years I would have bought one years ago . Maybe a new bike will motivate me .

The NSR 2's are still in production as I picked one up about 2 weeks ago. It is exactly what they say - simple and easy to use and allows you to get to the trails.
