Wow, I don't know what to say about when I read this and saw this picture. I can understand that people have different views/opinion about this issue but can't everybody just move on?

"Whether you agree with this decision or not is up to you, and if you talk to any journalist they will report your opinion on the matter (as I have done in the past). However, to stand up on the podium at the national championships, don a t-shirt with inappropriate writing on it and then have your supporters shout obscenties, jeers and catcalls shows a complete lack of respect for the title, the sport and your competitors. It is embarassing and shameful to anyone associated with the sport."

its just plain WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

michelle really shouldn't race....at all.

i have no problem with michelle being a cyclist, being sponsored on a freeride team, being in the mags and videos, i have no problem with michelle being a rep of cycling............it takes alot of guts to do what she has...........

but she should not race.ever. or again.

it is just plain WRONG.

its embarassing and shamefull to all those associated with the sport.

i was embarased to be a canadian yesterday.

danika is the champ.for real.

NOBODY should be dissing danika for wearing that shirt.

being a woman who used to be a man, and then racing against women shows a complete lack of respect for the title, the sport , and the women who compete in racing.

Classless stunt on the part of the Cove rider. And if it is true about the supporters jeering, etc, classless on their part too.

So Stacy, you tell me: how exactly did Danika do anything to help herself, or help her sport? I couldn't agree more with the writer here: http://www.canadiancyclist.com/default2.html

You know what? Win with class, lose with class. If you must, find a way to express yourself and your side of the story eloquently. She had the perfect opportunity to do just that, with media in town for the event, and for Crankworx. But, instead, she chose to take the low road, and it looks bad on all of us. Now, with any press she will get, it will be accompanied by a photo of her standing on the podium with that shirt. It's disrespectful to the sport, and to Canadians. I'm embarrassed for her.

Two "wrongs" doesn't make a "right". Again: classless.

Wow. Are people really that stupid, or does the hidden message in all of this have something to do with promoting helmet use in cycling. Landing on your head a few times without a bucket is about the only thing I can think of to explain such a bush-league stunt.

Way to promote the sport covegirl.

Michelle has a right to be there, she has a right to race.

Danika's actions are immature and incredibably unprofessional.

This is a bad reflection on her sponsors, imo.

I hope Cycling BC will do something to ensure this sport does not drop to this level again.

Wow - that was low blow by Danika, IMO. She may be opposed to what Michelle is doing but that was not the appropriate way express her discontent. i.e. - a direct personal attack. I'm sure she'll end up regretting this one day.

That looked like a tough course. Congrats to everyone who rode it and especially to those with fast times.

Too bad about the podium antics by DS.
