Today was a bad day ask andrew ( atb)
Ive had a good season started off rusty in Januray after getting back into it after my shoulder injury. Started off with the sunday crew ( good bunch of guys) got back into it also got shown the shore after living in whistler for 6 years. Got better and better shoulder got better and better. Great season in the bike park some dirt jumps days some shore rides sick sun shine coast trip some more shore rides and last 3 days in whistler ... kinda leads me to this been off the bike for about a month, hit my head real hard getting into my truck one morning on the way to work, concussion ... don't remember the drive in to work don't rememeber the day at work ... took 3 weeks off the bike but no days off work ... Today Andrew calls wanna ride ... ok meet at about 12:30 drive up to mushroom parking lot ... get on the bikes feels good drop into cork screw, not bad, heads not to bad ... half way down i lose my way .. heads not right ... finish cork screw .. ride down the first part of neds flowing like a river, nice ... take a left get to dales trail... never been on dales ... drop in i can't focus ride like crap can't see the trail can't pick a line end up walk riding my bike down almost the whole trail... I must have walked 60-70% of the trail today ... walked this one rock face and slip on my ass but also re-injuring my shoulder .... get to the bottom just ... drive home after a quick stop at little ceasers pizza ... now im at home sitting on the computer and im mad i can't stop thinking about the worst day ever on a mtn bike... Not only is my head not right my shoulder is now weak again ... i think that was my last day of my 06 season. On a good note Dales is a cool trail and im already thinking about riding it again its not like any of the trails ive ridden on Seymour it also looks like it could use some work and i wanna help who do i talk to ? thanks to Andrew (atb) for waiting for my slow ass today got a worse day to make me feel better about mine? But don't forget to add a good day

Hey Jim, if it is any consolation, Dales beat the living snot out of me last week. I dont know why, but I couldnt find a line to save my life. I was embarrased to be riding with other people. I hide behind the excuse that my back and knee were not doing so well before I started.

I still hurt from Dales last week, I didn't see the line on the first log ride and took a little detour.

I actually had a good day today; I put my wider bar on instead on my 25" bar x-up bar. That made the ride way more enjoyable.
i just hope i get my dhr back soon.

Last time I rode Dale's it wasn't in need of work. It is rough and gnarly in sections but it is old school and while it will have changed over the years, any significant work would be most likely to change the feel of the trail somewhat. I'd hazard a guess that some of the old guard would fix anything they deemed in need of a fix, so I would just leave it.
Back on the main topic, the head issue sounds very sketchy, have you talked to a doctor aobut this? I'd get it suss'ed out if I were you, it sounds downright scary to have your head impossible to focus like that when you are trying to ride. I hope you recover well and can get back into riding ASAP.

Right on the money Hack. Dale's gets the love it needs when its needed, which isn't too often. Anyway, a good trail to avoid during the monsoons.

So I skipped the ride today to pose for graduation photos. Not my graduation either.
I'd say mine is a tad more embarrassing than yours. Plus, I'm too chicken shit to ride Dales in this weather. -Kenneth |

yes, Dales is not a wet weather trail. It'll kick anyone's a$$ when it's slick.
yes, Dales is old school knar, and is not slated for any major work. It won't be getting paved and flowy any time soon. that said, the old guard is always looking for new blood. never assume "they'll fix it". PM me if you'd like help getting the proper permissions to work on the trail. I know a couple places that could use some lovin. be prepared for a long hike in to the trail. that's why it doesn't get much work |

Is that where you've been hiding? CBC's closed now, you know. It's time to come down.
