i have forgotten
over the past 5 years of downloading like a madman, i have forgotten about how good it is to have a whole complete album.

i got 2pac's first 2 CD's

2pacalypse now and Me against the World


and man oh man, he was so much better in the old days, he rapped about stuff he felt in his belly, angry words from a poor black man fighting every second to survive.

sure his later stuff was OK, but i'd rather hear about the struggle than about pimpin hoes and drinking crystal campagne

Old 2pac was a lot like rage IMO, 2pac is THEE only rapper ive EVER had ANY respect for.

it was tragic that he got caught up in all the bullshit and was eventually shot down in the prime of his life.

those two albums are two of my favorite albums of all time. brilliant lyrics and subject. he was about something, not just bs rapping about bling-bling and bitches. there were messages in all his lyrics and he was trying to bring the shit he was going throught into the public eye trying to explain why he was the way he was. if you into his rhymes and lyric go read "The Rose That Grew From Concrete." its a book of a bunch of his poems and such. its a really good view into his thoughts and his life.

I love full albums. In the last 4 years I hadn't bought a single full album, but lately I decided I was sick of downloading songs and getting crappy quality ones and such, so I bought some CD's as of late and I love it. I'm never burning another CD, i'd way rather have the real deal.

i buy some hip hop cds where they've been mixed so it all flows in to each other. alot nicer than 20 random tracks.

tupac was and is amazing. but dont forget public enemy. i wish i could say i like biggie, but his songs are just all stupid to me. if you ask me talib kweli is a present day tupac. his stuff is amazing. bash me all you want but until you've seen him live you won't understand. raw emotion.

mass appeal is an awesome old school beat from Gangstarr. hes got a great style. confident but not over the top. i dunno if you've listened to his old stuff, but there's a good example.

i actually spent about 20 min talking to the guy at slam city jam this year. had no clue who he was then all of a sudden hes like gotta go hope you enjoy the show and then goes on stage and rips it up. very good show too.

yea man. i was one of those kids who got tackled for jumping the fence to get up to the stage hahaha the coupe opened and were good but their recorded stuff is way better. they remind me of a watered down version of The Roots (or maybe it's just the full band set up).

that's wicked you got to talk to him for that long. he's a chill guy. i know some people that talked to him and they said he's totally cool.
