Wade & Sharon's book - Locals' Guide to North Shore Rides

Will be using this thread to put up some ongoing content that hopefully complements the Locals' Guide

But first, some people have asked us how we are giving back to trails.

1) Sharon actively works on trails, before and after this book came into existence and will keep doing so.

2) Wade is also actively involved in advocacy through the NSMBA as "Trail Ambassador" and in various other roles.

3) Our business, MTB Trails Co will periodically donate $ to trailbuilders. We've decided to make cash donations directly to local builders and trail fairies who we feel are deserving. We've decided to make our first donation (which we actually made in May) to the "Aftertaste Crew".

Here is a Cypress XC/AM loop.

You can either shuttle to the 2nd Cypress lookout and drop in or ride up the BLT from the Works Yard (approx 45 mins - 1 hour) & ride from there. The loops involves Slippery Canoe - Pull Tab (via the new entrance) - Upper Tall Cans - then on to either Lower Tall Cans, S & M connector or Roach Hit (not video'ed).

We will note that these are not meant to be professional videos. They are for the most part, POV (GoPro HD shooting forwards, Contour GPS shooting backwards) with some static footage from a Canon SD1400 IS or a Canon 7d. Their purpose is to give you a flavor for the trail.

It's been a wet June but we started it right by donating some cash to a un-named builder who works mainly in the Cypress area.

Here's a standard Fromme lap. Starting with an oldie but goodie (but definitely greasy) trail -

Bookwus

Bookwus rides off the log of 7th and then on to Executioner

Then the closest thing to xc in Fromme Mtn in North Vancouver; Dreamweaver

What this?!....I hear there is a waterproof folding map in the works that has the three mountains' overview maps.....yeaheesssss!! Stay tuned and check out your LBS soon.
