I'm liking the head angle for the riding around here - not sure about the seat angle though. What's up with that?

The steep seat angle makes climbing so much easier, allowing you put power down efficiently and keep some weight on the front end of the bike to keep it from wandering.
I do wish the Slayer had a longer top tube though...would make it climb even better. |

It is a nice bike. Jamie and Rocky knocked it out of the park with this bike.

can I call BS on the sub 7lb weight with coil shock?
http://www.bikeradar.com/news/articl...rst-look-25796 In total the new Slayer is 366g lighter than its predecessor and 12 percent stiffer in full torsion. The frame weight with a custom tuned Fox RP23 XV Boost Valve shock is 3,209g (7.09lbs). C'mon surprise me with a scale shot.

If it's really under 7lbs with coils/Ti spring I will be interested to buy one.
And after mentioning so much about parts weight the article didn't mention the total weight of the bike. Can you tell us the weight of the bike? |

I was wondering how much Rocky paid him to write that until I read the last paragraph.
Thanks for that at least...........

1: Look, if you are hooked up by SRAM please don't pretend like you chose all that stuff on your bike.
2: What happened to hating on bikes with under the downtube cable routing (Specialized - so vulnerable etc etc etc)? Now that Rocky does it, it's ok? 3: That looks good, nice work Rocky. |

We have never had just one frame sponsor. This past year we had riders on Cannondale, Specialized, Rocky, Evil and Black Market. It's the way we roll.
Specialized sponsors AIRprentice and several riders on the team but they are not the team's sole frame sponsor. Also - Eamonn isn't a detail guy. I'll ask someone at Rocky to provide a little more info on weights etc. Finally - this was a bike check and not a review. Stuart reviewed the Slayer earlier and his fine examination of the bike is here... |

advertorial
Remember when you're reading the sunday paper and there's this weird section that kinda looks half like the rest of paper and half like and ad? Then you look at the top and it says "Special Advertising Section". That's what this kind of "review" is. Industry folks call this an Advertorial. Totally legit in that publishers have called this fair game for years provided the disclaimers are in there.
NSMB does good for their disclaimer at the bottom. A few of the regulars on the boards who get similar hook-up's need to change their signatures to include this kind of disclaimer. But I'm getting off topic....
