When you're in the area, the Dewdney Trail on the Christina Lake side is pretty awesome as well. The lower section is shuttle-able and is really well maintained as a result. We rode the whole section (upper and lower) from the summit on the Santa Rosa Rd (this is the access point to the Christina Crest Trail, as well) and it was awesome, though there were some downed trees and other detritus along the upper section. Definitely worth doing the whole thing and the trail crew in the area promised to do some maintenance (Ministry of Forests trail crew). Cheers!

Did you ever try the Christina Crest Trail? The young guy at WildWays couldn't believe we found it through to Vertical Smile. It was tough trail finding from time to time. There was one particular section where a spur led us off to the left (westerly) and really through us for a loop. If you find yourself there, look to the right at the start of a climb and you'll see flagging. Good luck!
