Hey everyone 2 things, check it.
1. Last week there was supposed to be a public meeting for the riding community to give their ideas for the upcomming Burnaby bike park project. It got cancelled because of a punctured oil pipe. This meeting has been rescheduled to this week, thursday August 2, 2007 same place (old gun range on Barnett hwy just down from the velo dome) from 5pm-8pm. You can't be heard if you don't show up and speak.
2. A bike park was built 2 weeks ago in terrible rainy weather in Port Coquitlam. On vollunteer day 40+ people showed up and put a great finish to the skills areas and now the place is awesome. We could not shape any jumps/wall ride/berms in the rain and have had to wait for good weather. This saturday August 4th is going to be a vollunteer day to shape all the jumps and get the rythm figured. During early planning, riders wanted to shape their own jumps so the piles are placed and ready to go. Come out and shape this park right! There will be a quad on site to pack everything tight.
WE NEED HELP!!!!! Bring flat shovels, rakes and bikes this saturday from 9am till ???. Wiith enough people we will have the place dialled in a few hours and riding/tuning for the rest of the day. This is not an official function, there will be no food, drinks, lunch and stuff, bring your own. We always end up with great peeps doing a heap of work and having a ton of fun, come on out. If you don't like other jumps or parks, get on out and help us gett'er done your way, we can all learn from it.
The POCO park is located on Shaughnessy Road (3400-3500 block), 3 blocks north of the Lougheed Hwy on the west side. It is also accessable by the POCO trail.
