Cougar chasing riders on valley trails - what's the latest?

There has been several reports about a cougar chasing riders on Comfortably Numb, Cut Yer Bars, etc. Can anyone provide an update?

there is no update, they shot it....

however, there have also been reports of a youngish looking griz on the mountain....high snowpack in the alpine has forced a lot of these seclusionary animals down lower.....just keep an eye out

i remember 2 years ago.. on easy does it.. big bear popped out infront.. but ran away..

a couple weeks ago i saw a kid go into b line and there was this bear and her cubs right around the corner, the kid didnt see them and stopped right infront of it, the mom bear charged at him and growled but stopped after it was like 5 feet away from him. that was a scary sight

black bears are generally just bluffers, throw your arms around and strat yelling and they'll generally run away, even if they bluff charge...

Yup..cougar are predators. They will stalk a person for quite a while before attacking. It sucks that they had to shoot the magnificent animal but public safety has to come first.

the same cougar was also stalking people on the golf course so it needed to be shot, glad there are no bears or cougars where i live.

of course the human cougars that go after the 20 year olds..............

-That C---ouger ended up in the back of my neighbours truck over night. he was t-the conservation animal called in...sadly. I took some pics of it and even in death it was an amazing looking animal.

the young grizz was hanging out on the grassy slope at the bottom of fatcrobat a couple of weeks back. i rode right past it. definately felt different than seeing a black bear which i have run into a plenty over the years.

My friend had a cougar run across the road in front of her car in Alpine this morning!
