I went up there just to check it out and I won't be going back 'til it dries up a bit. Other than being bad for the trails to ride up there when its like that it was miserable and cold up there.

opening day was awful, but tday was great!

Today up on garbo, the only things wet were the big step up in the tree island before GG, and upper original sin. Upper FT only have a couple of small mud spots and was almost perfect conditions on the trail. Upper FT isnt in its best shape and has some rutted jumps. The rest is mint! I did In Deeo to fatcrobat, and it was dry with just a couple of muddy spots. Fatcrobat is so close to perfect and is so smooth. FT to in deep to fatcrobat is my new favorite. I ended my garbo session with too tight. d1 is closed. Too Tight was perfect and tacky. I love going fat through it. Unfortunately, unlike last time I rode it, it has some bad breaking bumps and rutted corners. I remember riding that trail fresh on my hardtail. It was amazing

Overall, garbo is great right now and even the run into the containers is dry. But if it rains, dont even go up there. But if theres no rain, go up, its so fun!

There was a big difference between Saturday and Sunday on Garb. It is really drying up quickly.

its still pretty slippery though, we were able to full out drift the turns in the mud, and there is loads of snow on the sides of trails, and on the road, that is really fun (and stupid?) to rip through in-between trails. But, its garbo, and its great for avoiding the lineups

on Sunday goats gully and original sin before the step up into tree island were pretty slick, most of Garbo was mint though.

Yes, people were getting owned on both of those yesterday. I saw a lot of people walking the last part of OS and GG looked like a herd of Buffalo had gone down there from all the people walking down the sides.

That'st filthy ape, its right when you come out of the big step up after OS and you pass the entereance of Goats Gully and theres a bunch of side hits on bear cub. Its dropping in on the second side hit from the top as a rockface. It has a sign, you just need to look for it and go uphill a little.

yeah no problem. I had no clue what it was until one of my friends was all like "lets check out filth ape". I had no clue what he was talking about until I realised it was the rockface line sidehit thing. Instead of airing off of the first sidehit, ride up to the left instead of going downhill and push upto the filthy ape sign, its a double black. You probably wanna talk to or watch someone whos gone it before cause I think its quite tricky. I havent done it yet.

Too tight - Its like a really narrow singletrack trail that zips fast through the trees and is kind of like a less tech, more steep angry pirate. Very smooth and fun. Nothing that challenging until the end, where there is an optional log ride.

In Deep - Double Black tech trail. Its not too hard, its more fun than hard. Its very flowy and has option features and stunts every once in a while. Lots of rockfaces and roots, nothing too big on most of the trail. there are some hard lines, but everything can be ridden around. Halfway, you can go into fatcrobat or continue on the rest of the trail, which is nice tech singletrack.

Fatcrobat - You get into this trail from In Deep. It's just like iIn Deep, just more stunt ridden. There are many ladders, some which have small kickers on them. A lot of the ladders cannot be ridden around, but can be walked. They are not very high off of the ground though. This trail I find you can go very fast on as its so smooth. Some challenging rock sections and theres an optional ditch gap on one of its crossings. Most of the trail is like In Deep, just with way more stunts and features. Again, not that hard. At the end of the trail is its most famous feature, a LONG log ride that you just need to see

f. ape is pretty straight forward. The two things I hate about it... 1 - you have to hike to it (one hit wonder)... 2 - you have no run-out to continue riding on a trail or path (one hit wonder).

Aside from the one-hit-wonder aspect, it's quite a fun face! Plus it scares the hell out of people when you come zipping down sounding like a run-away semi :)

I have to say I enjoyed it up there yesterday. Some mucky, some very mucky spots. Not nearly as dry as the report earlier would lead, but not as bad as I thought.

Likely, whoever wrote up that it was "dry" didn't ride Goat's Gully. It was mucky, slippery, and a hell of a lot of work. Fun, deffinitely, but you have to like that kind of riding.

I was a little squeamish after coming upon a kid w/ a compound fracture on his right elbow. He bit it on the tripple hump. Managed to snap his pedal axle. No arm pads, going rock star. He was being well looked after by his buddies, so we called the patrol, and told them to stay put (they were thinking of walking to the closest road...not a good idea after losing all that blood and the footing being what it was).

Yeah no problem. They are my favorites. Make sure if you hit them, do it when you know its dry or not gonna rain.
