The Bass looks good, and I'm liking the Stinky air. But they do bear a resemblance to the older Konas.

yee yee. you could easily do a switcheroo.. or maybe its just sorta a stinky that can do some hucks, like a coiler but more heavy duty yet XC at the same time

it would be nice to see something new from Kona, that design ran its course years ago.......

honestly if your low on flow and need a new bike, buy a NORCO, that Kona design sucks ass. Good for beginners thats it.

as for the new 66 lookin like a Totem?????? They are both burly single crowns( which Marz pretty much invented). Did you want them to add a 3rd leg or something??

Ive liked Kona up to this point, The hardtails look like crap for 08, Stinky Air is pretty much the only thing there that looks O.K. and even then theres so many other bikes that id buy before I even bothered looking at it. Its too bad about the Cowan though, the 06 model was wicked(price wise it wasnt).. Hope Kona has something better in store for 09! 2006 was pretty much there best year IMO.

so kona needs to redo their bikes, despite the tried and true design they are running with (minus some little tweaks here and there) but marz doesn't have to alter their forks because....because they are marz?

a 3rd leg on a fork would be interesting though!

Ahhh...

Another year of innovation from Kona.

Wonder where bikes would be nowadays from 1999 if every company innovated as hardcore as Kona.

Oh hey! They'll look like this!

Meh.

Norco = same price or even cheaper = better. And they also don't say 'Kona' on the downtube.

Kona is the GM of the bike industry, they're slow to keep up with the times and refuse to change when everybody else has already moved on to better designs, all while hoping that their big name, not quality products, will keep them on top.

I like that Kona is sticking with their rear suspension design. They seem to be riding out the current phase where bikes are getting overly complicated and are getting judged more based on how different they look rather than how good they perform. Lots of great performing bike designs get overlooked by the latest and greatest being pumped up by the marketing folks.

are you kidding me?? They are all marketing thats why they have been rocking the same design since duallies were invented. Sex One anyone....

Kona is in no way responsible for moving bike design forward. Ride my ReignX and then tell me how rad the stinky is.

unlike Kona, Giant is a company that is always pushing new designs (almost?) every year now that i come to think about it.

Kona makes a solid budget built bike. there is no sense in "marketing innovation" a single pivot design with a platform shock works great. Keep it simple stupid.

Kyle,

that has proven itself time and time again to feel like total shit.

I'm not a Kona fan by any means, but they've got their niche set out and they sell a lot of bikes because of it. They own the grom market by far I would say (those damn things are everywhere!!). There's many, many nicer riding bikes out there that's for sure, but for your average freerider a Kona will do just fine.

...oh, and Fabien could win on a Garbage Truck (GT).
