I used the Whistlers bike valet last year and it was fine. I haven't heard any bad stories and its only 7 bucks day.

They all do... but still there have been bikes stolen at the Westin...

Best bet is to for go the Fairmont... not worth it in my opinion, but the Pan Pacific Mountainside is a great hotel.

Smuggle the bike into the room, from the garage up is usually the best way... and then when you get it into the room, put it on towels... and old ones, not the ones from the bathroom that are gleaming white.

Just make sure that you don't hit the walls and or get dirt on their carpet. I don't trust anyone and have heard horror stories of bikes getting taken from the "locked" lockers.

The westin has great bike storage and hasn't had a bike stolen since 2002/2003. Can't really beat the location either.

cheers

Anyone else have suggestions of hotels that have really secure bike storage? (Have friends coming up from California & Colorado that are looking for a place to rent.)

Yup, we've rented condos from those listed on Allura Direct quite a few times.

My wife used to work @ a Sheraton here on Kauai, we stayed @ the Westin
each time. Great people, after 3-4 days all the valets knew who I was and had
my bike taken care of.

They have a locked room they put your bike in, and they lock it to the rack in
back as well. I felt very good about leaving my bike with them. Just don't forget
to tip every once in a while, or at the least when you check out. I gave them
$50.00 when I checked out. A1 service, can't say enough good things about them.

Oh, and it's a 30 second pedal to the lift.

I'll be staying in a condo this year though :(
