the Master Plan Dan

So this weekend started off kind of sketch... rain and very cool temperatures. Did a few laps on Sat with the "Gang!" and some new additions... Marelee, Colin, Berni, Ashek, Ryan, Redneck, Jake and Brodie the wonder dog, at the usual spots. Good times! Sorry HB 1/2! Then along came Mr. Summers, and meeting Mrs. Dunn and Katy Freeman all decided that it was time to get the Shred on at Whistler.
I broke my collar bone last year in the Bone Yard and was bound and determined this year to not "whore" it at Whistler this year, like I did last year. I went pretty much every weekend when there wasn't a trailday or "someone" else keeping me in the city.
I was going to hold out and wait until Garbonzo was open but after a little persuading, I think it took 1 minute, Mr. Summers coaxed me into riding on Sunday.
The weather was great! Not to hot, not to cold... a little rain to keep the trails tacky. And a whole lot of Whistler Bike Park goodness.
Warm up run is always and will always be Dirt Merchant! Kudos to the work on that one... nice flowy... big tables... kind of brought a tear to my eye. The new creek gap was eyed... and now that I have passed it and done the little one 4 times... me thinks I am grabbing my flight ticket and going to hit it next time. It is the wood take off that gets me every time.
As the Upper mountain wasn't open, there were a bunch of trails that I never seem to ride, as normally I stick to the upper mountain.
Schelyer, and Detroit Rock City... and now personal favorites.
Can't wait to hit that again.
We met up with the guys from Full Boar Bikes... and sessioned the park until 4ish, Mr Summers had to get home. They are super funny guys and if you are ever in Kamloops, be sure to stop by the shop. Although I can't be held responsible for what you will see or hear.
I hope that everyone had a great weekend... and yeah... get out and ride your bikes!
