Hi bikers:

I'm heading to Whistler for the first time in a few years this weekend to ride the bike park. Wondering if my 2005 Awl is enuff bike w/r/t travel and burliness? I'm guessing yes, but don't want to break my new (to me) baby.

I'm average size and weight and unlikely to be getting any huge air since it's been a while since the last time I was doing any hardcore trail riding.

So, should I take the Brodie, or rent a dually at the hill?

thanx

Stump

If you take it easy itll be fine. I ride my Norco Fluid up there a couple times a year, it is an all-mountain type bike. I find as long as I stay away from the big drops (I've been avoiding these for a while now after injury) it is all good.

When you heading up? I always find it more enjoyable once the upper mountain has opened up. I end up spending more time on those technical trails rather than the superhighway that is known as A-Line.

You'll beat it more then it would like to be beaten.

Its like doing 8-10 downhills in one day, where you would normally do one or two on that bike.

I rode my 2001 RM Slayer in the Park but would have preferred not to.

You'd do yourself and your baby a favour and rent a big bike...

Ride it one day, see how it does and how you feel then decide.
