i am just gonna get a cheap hardtail in the meantime. something i aint gonna kill myself on. school is 10 times more important than biking is. biking aint gonna make me money.

Good point... at least you're gettin -something- to ride!

rider
03-15-2003, 09:23 PM
yea, thats sad to hear, but its all about what you want todo.
dont just ride cause people say you should, or to prove something. if theres other stuff youd rather be doing (education -> money) than thats what you should be doing, and you should be having fun while doing htat

what are you taking?

Ron Jeremy

Not university, i opted to go into trades. i was gonna major in psych at ubc, but chose to get into electrical at BCIT. the thing is, there is a three year waitign list to that course and i was very very lucky to get in this sept, so if i hurt myself, i gotta wait three years and for alot of you younger guys on here, it might not seem like a big deal, but when you got a girl and other responsibilities (bills, insurance etc.), it is. As soon as i pay this off (alosmt 6 grand for everything), i will get a bike again. BUt until then, school is alot more important. Like i said before, i aint no pro biker and aint gonna make a living off it.

curt, don't be wee-tawded. Everybody who has a job is usually risking something. As long as you ride how you ride and don't push it any further you'll be fine. No one said huck a big one but mountian biking is still fun, is it not?

it's about a girl, isn't it?

I'm doing a Ned's rip today for the first time in 5 months. Come along for the good times.

Ron Jeremy

I aint giving it up at all. i kinda wanna get out of huckign and into street/dj. so with the money from my bike, i can get a hardtail and still put away a good 1500 in the bank. so it shoud work out.

Uhh which one is true..? The title of the thread or your last post... I hope you're still going to be riding, because i think it helps to go for a ride when schoolwork and other stuff get out of hand and you need to get away from all of it. Whatever's best for you, but having that HT for street and stuff seems to be a good idea.

thank god school for me is over in like 3 weeks, and then all my exams are done within the first week....so i'll have 2 and a half months to work and ride before any of you suckers get out on the job market and full time riding again...(not like it will improve my riding abilities any)
