Shuttling either mountain will soon be costing more than just gas.
What if you park at the ski hill, I thought that was privetly owned.

On Seymour, half of the lot is on Parks land, half is GVRD land so fees may not apply there.
On Cypress anyway, the ski area is on Parks land. From the map I have it looks like all the parking areas along the road is Parks too.
In fact the employees will have to pay the $5.00/day fee when they go to work there. Running joke is how long the ticket dispenser will last when the snow plow drivers have to start to pay. WHOOPS missed that ticket booth

Which lots?
I'd guess the Mushroom Parking lot (picnic area) is park.
What about the view point lot one switchback up from there?
The ski hill overflow parking lot one up from the CBC trail head?

From the signs on the road, I'd guess anything below the first viewpoint is outside of the park, right? So that means the parking areas near the WV works yard and first switchback is okay?

Mushroom parking lot =BC Parks
View point Parking lot = BC Parks
CBC parking lot = BC Parks
Skier's lot = 1/2 BC Parks, 1/2 GVRD so payment MAY not apply there.
According to the Map of Cypress I have, the parking lot at the bottom is marked as 'BC Parks or Other", but not DWV. So who knows.

pay to park is a good thing...the money collected goes to preserve roads, lots, etc...
i totally support paying to park..
i always dig when a ranger station sells parking permits for summer parking....really makes a difference...
Do the ski hills not lease the land from the park though? I would assume that if they did they would be in charge of parking (and fees).

I may have missed it, but I don't see any reference to fees for Seymour. Maybe no fees apply there. That would be huge.

"Revenues raised through these fee adjustments or introductions will maintain facilities and services at all provincial park campgrounds and day-use areas. The revised fees will be in place by May 1, 2003 in most areas of the Province."
