Without calling every shop on the Shore, anyone know what shops carry syncros rims? Thanks.

Overtime sports. They have a lot of DP25 in stock and can possibly order in more.

Thanks. Just looking for shops on the Shore for now. Apperantly Different Bikes can also order them in next day....

Also posed this in the ultimate rim thread, but anyone have any long term info on the DS28? From the reviews posted, it seems to be in the same strength range as a 721 or MTX, but with less weight....

I've got the DS28's on my 'do-everything' hardtail. I've ridden it hard on the shore and the wheels are holding up really well. Build into stiff wheels too. I'm very happy.
I think Jerry Willows runs them on his Demo 7 and he seems to do some big moves.

This is the most useful mantra, and one that every mountain biker should keep in his head at all times when making purchasing decisions.

Those words have helped me make so many decisions over the years.
If the DS28 is anything like the DP25, then they should be really good. I've beaten on my 25s for a year. and apart from a couple of flat spots, they have held up really well.

^^ Thanks, but I'm looking for people who have long term experience with the DS28. I think everyone has heard the cheap, light strong mantra many times, and I wasn't looking to choose all three....(edit, comment meant for nouseforaname, not biggles)
Thanks for your input Jon-Boy/Biggles.

I'd say the DS28 is one of the few things that is cheap, light, AND strong. Although I can't recall how much they cost so maybe they're not cheap (cheaper than mavic maybe?).
I've had one on the back of my all-mtn bike for about a year and a half and I've had no problems. I'm anout 200 lbs and its been ridden fairly hard.

Good to know. Thanks. The rims are about $65, so a little more than an s-type but cheaper than Mavic....

My only problem was that they changed the labels for 2007, and don't have the cool yellow bit on them, so I went for a 721. Call me vain, but the yellow on the rim looks awesome on my bike :)

Vain.
Just so no one think's I'm a light weigh XC rider... I'm 200lbs and my Chromag is built to be ridden on the shore and is. I've taken it down Pipeline, Ladies, 7th, UOC, LOC.... DS28's are good rims.

I'm only 170 (before gear), but my DP25s have taken me down The dentist, off the Pile driver, raced in the Rat Race. Burly stuff from a heavy duty XC rim!

I'm sold. I'm only 170lbs as well and I'm tired of pedalling around my Doubletracks. DS28's it is. I'll hook 'em up at Different Bikes.

Anybody know - does the 25/28 designation refer to the ID or the OD width?

OD width, I think it's on the syncros site somewhere.
i just build a dp25 and a ds28 and they both seem like super good rims. They built up perfectly straight and super stiff. The dp25 feels way stiffer than a single track and just as stiff as a Mavic xm321. I'm pretty excited to try them out!
