oops stripped out the threads on my brand new Travis Triple. Who's brilliant idea was it to do away with eyelet and brake adapters for post mount .

I think they did it so hamfists would have to buy new lowers every so often...
An extra income stream?

A buddy stripped his out. Went to a machine shop, and had them tap the lowers to accept a bigger diameter M7 or 8 bolt, and just ran a bigger bolt. Had to drill his brake caliper a little, too.

Because post mount is less hassle, fits more brakes, less adapters, stiffer and stronger.

You stripped your mounts because either your bolts were too short or because you didn't read your owners manual and use the proper torque specs....

Helicoils (http://www.helicoil.com/products/helicoil.asp) are the way to go, then the thread will be steel and a lot sturdier.
