Blue has 700 vertical feet, its sick by Ontario standards. Too bad I won't be able to ride there this summer, I will be in Whistler instead. :rocker: I leave May 2nd!!! I am so stoked.

You will never go back... I did the same thing... and then I moved here to Vancouver...
Blue Shmew!
I think it's called Blue Mountain because it turns into a block of ice in the winter so when you ski it, you turn black and blue ...

and it's called mountain because.... um.... hmmm.....
who am I kidding, I came off Boler Mountain. Who's heard of that one?
and it's called mountain because.... um.... hmmm..... it's an escarpment ...yeah right, a mountian it aint.
all I remember is that it typically took 2 hours of terror filled driving to get there and another 2 hours back on the 400 parking lot, o fun times......

^^^ not to mention a 20 minute ride up the gondola and then a five minute decent.
Oh the poor wee lads that have that... I guess thought it is all they have... I would like to ride it to see what it is like since I have been there.
Maybe I will head there for a day when I go back for my nephews birth!

Boler could me made out of a mountain of garbage like Centennial Park Ski Hill in Etobicoke.

Boler isn't that in London On? I rode Blue a bunch two summers ago while I was living in Ont. It's not so bad, 5 mins up the gondy and 3 minutes down the hill, like 25 or 30 runs a day :). A lot of fast singletrack, DJ park. Nothing compared to what we have though.

ahahahahaha Boler Mountain is the greatest! But in all seriousness i dont think it can even be called a hill. Im living in london, ontario right now going to Western Uni. I took my xc bike out there last fall(Boler) and its kinda sorta decent for xc, but cant imagine it being useful for skiing. Aftering a summer out west, trying to do anything either than street and xc in ontario is useless. Going up to Blue once a summer is alright. It reminds me of how much im missing out on and keep my dreams of moving out west alive.

I raced the Canada Cup at Bolar back in 1996, sweet DH, awesome oldschool Dual Slalom, its hard for me to knock anything in Ontario cause I came from Milton, (mmmm Glen Eden Ski area) but Blue is the only lift access in the province and they do what they can with whatever vert they have. XC is where its at in Ontario, freeride is hard for them cause of the terrain and lack of quality wood like cedar. But the urban riding is off the hook......

ha, I was born, married and nearly buried in London, Ontario. I only ever rode my bike once near Boler, (Kane's woods in Byron)... scared me and I never rode there again. Ah the good o'days when scary trails made me cry.

I guess im the blue mtn local here then. Ya blue is small but a ton of fun for the day. some trails are pretty good. but like said before xc is where its at here. out lack of stunt building is not due to lack of wood but laws that prevent us from doing anything and people are not receptive to change at all over here. I hear we have some guys from whistler comin up here this year to design an "a line" type trail.

I'm going to McMaster for Engineering for the next 4 years but every summer I plan on making the move out west, Ontario is just too flat.

Sick! I was at that too, just to watch though.
There was a guy in the DH who crashed hard he put himself out cold. He woke up a minute or two later, tried to hop on his bike to and ride to the finish. The paramedics wouldn't let him, and he went under again. Then, a minute later, he woke up again, and started running around yelling about having to catch his plane!
Anyway, was my first real bike race, and I coudln't believe all the top end bikes in one place. It was the best thing ever. I saw Trek Y bikes in real life, Pro Flexes, everything. It was awesome!

its too bad blue is not intrested in races anymore after that guy broke his neck there and filed a lawsuit against them.

I dont know what COP has for vertical...but it is one of the funer spots to hit for sure. Id be willing to give blue a try if i was ever out there. Not likely going to happen though. Builders at Blue, should get out to calgary to check out how a small hill gets it done. COP also has one of the best snow parks too. The half pipe is as big n bad ass as it gets.

In Maple Ridge, there's a hill called Blue Mountain - also called McNutt. It's the hill just west of the woodlot, but I don't think there's much there, or at least, I've not heard much about it.
And, yeah - I know that's not the Blue Mtn One Punch was looking for. I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Nord Bay has Jack Pine ski hill that if I recal was trying to get some bike stuff up and running when I was there for school back about 2000.
I rode Blue a few times when Swatty was running the shuttle van out of the Orchard lot. Wasn't worth the effort. We always had more fun riding endless varioations of 3 stages loops and point to points. I think we actually climbed several laps faster than the whole shuttle process.

I think I'd rather go to Grand Bend or Sauble. I've actually never been to Wasaga except on May 2-4 and it was cold so nobody was there.

Longest freshwater beach in the world..
