and the trails through princess park, braemar park, mosquito park, etc, can you ride your bike through those trails? is the riding any good (i realize it would be x country)? i havent been through there but in looking at a map, it looks like they all join up and you could do a pretty good ride.

cheers

tonnes of X-country trails through there. Just slow down for the hikers and dog walkers, and give a friendly hello.

note; X-country, not cross country. There's a difference.

Fishermans trail in LSCR is probably what you're looking for (long, smooth and flat), but wait till it drys out.

Not the east side. Used to be a pretty difficult climb on the upper east side and a slippery descent.

is the riding any good (i realize it would be x country)?

What's wrong with cross country?

nothing wrong with cross country.

On the shore, I call it X-country (like X-games) when I take out the Trek Fuel on the trails.

Anywhere else in the world, it's cross country.

From Queens up it is uphill only. But from Queens down I think you can ride either. The east side from Marine Dr. up to Queens is a great spot (up or down) for people getting into riding (kids etc...) X-country!

Check out the Camp Brick trails as well for some relatively flat trails.

what about the powerline trail and baden powel, are they any good for biking?

parts of the BP are cool, like on Fromme where Mr Morin and others have done tons of work (many thanks ) but I've never ridden all the way across from one side to the other. Usually I'm coming down from the high points. You can also climb up to it on the Dempsey Braemar trail (starting at the interesection of the 2 roads).

The powerline trail is rideable between Mosquito creek and St Georges Ave. I suppose you ride the BP in a westerly direction and come back east under the powerlines. Or even continue to the Grouse skyride under the powerlines and then turn around. There are some tricky trail connections but you can figure it out.

for xc I like to ride over to Seymour, across the bridle path, then take Twin Bridges over to the main LSCR area and then either ride the Camp Brick trails or head up Fromme, or both. Hope that helps
