When reading the bulletin board spelling errors are (unfortunately) to be expected. However, when reading a published article (no matter if it's on paper or online) spelling errors detract from the credibility of the article. This article reads like an online review from a happy consumer rather than being an informative NSMB piece. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.
I mildly disagree to rexthespeedster. question is how to write a "better" article more in line with the nsmb style? this is not about a fork or any other hardware thing. anyways, I found it quite interesting. Personally I think that Stephen shared all the necessary info on the helmet.
If i should be in the position to buy a new one and ditch my dirtbike full face, i'd go for the rampage. looks good, sounds good - now it just has to fit onto my head. :)

Hey Rex,
I totally agree about the spelling and that's something we put a lot of effort into. I see errors every day in local papers and in books I'm reading. They can never be completely eradicated. I however couldn't find the errors you are referring to. Would you please point the error(s) out?
In terms of your comments about the review we always like to get feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to share your opinion with us.

Well, I'm going to have to retract my comment about the spelling thing. It turns out I've learned a new word today. The word that I was referring to was 'hales'. My apologies about the spelling issue.
I respectfully still stand by my opinion that this piece reads as an online consumer review rather than a magazine article.

Actually you are correct. Hales in that instance should have been hails. Nice catch. I didn't notice it but Stuart did.

Is this the lineup for splitting hairs?
I thought it was a great review, I don't expect literary perfection on a mountain bike site.

It's a good looking helmet imo. Looks and fit are usually how I pic a helmet.

i have one that i use for night riding, i've been using it since the end of summer and it does take a good beating. i'm happy with it but it is a warmer helmet because of the padding....but it is very comfortable.
cheap as well, i found mine for under $100(not in the lower mainland of course)

You may not expect it but we strive for top quality content that can be measured against anything you see in print. Sometimes we fall a little short, sometimes I think we knock it out of the park. Either way it's something we put a lot of effort into.
Thanks for the kind words.

My brother has this one and I must say that protection is good but the paint peel of.I know more people with this problem. So choose your helmet carefully. And excuse my english please.Tomas
The article commented a couple of times on the ample venting. It appears to me from the pics shown that the venting is quite limited. Maybe it looks different from a front/top view but the Bell Bellistic (I am currently wearing one) and the Giro Remedy look like they have better venting.
I live in Japan and a lot of riders will only buy a Troy Lee helmet, Im not too sure how it is everywhere else. But there are so many quality helemts
I wish people here would open there minds up a little about the brands they buy. This looks like a quality Lid

the helmet has 8 vents. 4 on the top, 2 under the visor and 2 more on the lower back, it vents great when your moving but gets warm from the thick padding when your riding at a slow pace.
better then the remedy by far for comfort and looks......... plus your head doesnt feel anything while its bouncing off cliff ledges on cypress.
