#1 and #5 would make good stock photos.
The rest are kinda plain (No offence meant).
The leica produces nice images though.
This image of yours is much stronger than everything above. This image is sick.

I think he should give the camera to the first person that makes a post in this thread that has shot a roll of street in that exact same downtown Glasgow shopping area.

2nd shot is my fav. next time you're on msn i'm going to give you shit for taking pictures behind people again. faces!!!
stu i've thought a solution to your lcd screen problem. instead of trying to find a way to permanently turn it off, you should just tape rolls of negatives on top of it.

35mm f/1.4?
Majin, do you have any idea what you are talking about? (obviously not)
Do any of those shots look wide angle at all?
please. It's a 50mm.

In his defense, hasn't he only shot digi? And wouldn't a 35mm on a digi be sorta close-ish to a 50mm, or at least closer? (I have no idea how the conversion actually works out, as I know nothing about digital cameras. I just know that it's different.)
This post felt weird.

I would feel bad for the future of photography if he felt that way.

This post felt weird. thats along the lines of what he posted and edited when i quoted. if you forget that you have a crop in your digi you need to rething things.
also this is half off topic. if you have a zoom lens it doesnt get a larger zoom with the crop. its just a crop and i hate when people call a 100mm lens a 160 or what ever you multiply the lens by the crop to.

Yeah, I have no idea how that shit works. All I know is that a 20mm on a D50 is not the same as a 20mm on my Nikkormat.

thanks guys!... i think
oh btw...
Majin was right.. but its a 35/1.7! :)
The rest are a bit plain your right... but shooting street you don't get astounding images everyday and you don't get brilliant lighting everyday.
Shooting on the leica for me is still pretty time consuming.. these were my 12 and 13th rolls put through. Also, Glasgow to me is boring for photography... as its my home town! :(
Slang: I see two shots from behind... one of the guy reading the magazine where i wanted to be looking in from outside at him... and the last one where i wanted it to just seem like he was on his own staring at people... which i got. The rest are faces! :)
Stuken: did you shoot a roll in Glasgow? Show me some :)

Ah, but you know what I mean. I'm talking more about courage when shooting in your hometown. I think you should shoot glasgow with the daring like you would have if you were in a foreign place, but that's just my take on it.

I agree!
There is a subway station at Bay Street in Toronto that was abandoned... and now they use it for Movies! I have seen some really cool pictures of it... of course there are no people in it.
But the rest of the shots are really good as well!

no consent is necessary for editorial or personal use.
If however you were selling the images you would need a release.

I agree. The first one (apart from the tube pic) is sick. nice one. it shows the stillness and reflection of an individual in a beehive-like ped zone. totally in his own little world. killer shot.
and i agree to slang, imagine you were an alien on planet earth. how would you capture the essence of glasgow and :scotland: ?

it works basically as a crop is the best way i can say it, theres nothing fancy going on. if your shooting with say a 50mm on a 20d or something with a 1.6 crop, multiply the crop by the length of the lens and thats just a ballpark number to look at for the degree you can see... its not the same with fish eyes and stuff though. the crop does make things appear larger but it doesnt make them closer.

what do you guys think of this shot instead of the first? I shot two.. I prefer the angle on this but it lacks any movement in the background.

The movement is essential. I think.
